Principal Features: N07718 (GH169/Inconel 718): As a high-strength, high-temperature resistant and corrosion resistant alloy and developed in the early 1960's, N07718 is still considered the material of choice for the majority of aircraft engine components with service temperatures below 1200°F (650°C).
It is also suitable for use at cryogenic temperatures. N07718 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy containing also significant amounts of iron, niobium, and molybdenum along with lesser amounts of aluminum and titanium.
It also combines good ductility, formability with outstanding weldability including resistance to postweld cracking.
The alloy has excellent creep-rupture strength at temperatures to 1300°F (700°C).N07718 (GH169/Inconel 718).
Applications of N07718 include a variety of fabricated component applications in both aircraft and land-based turbine engines including rings, casings, and many types of formed sheet metal components; also used for fasteners and instrumentation partsalso various applications for oil/gas well down hole and well head components.
Aerospace, gas turbines, rocket motors, spacecraft, space shuttles, nuclear reactors, turbo pump seals and cryogenic storage tank.
